Values

We want to be a community who amplifies Jesus by engaging and loving the people in our lives, the city where we live, and the world Jesus redeems. Six core values motivate us to live this way:

Prayer

We thank God that he converses with us, and we embrace this gift by voicing our hopes, fears, successes, failures, questions, thanks, and praise. By speaking these to God, we learn to trust him above our own abilities. Through prayer, we see the power of God who responds to people who look to him. Each January we spend a week praying and fasting together, beginning the year in dependence. The Week of Prayer and Fasting prayer guide focuses our requests on themes that influence our lives throughout the year.

Truth

We strive to submit our lives to God’s truth instead of personal agendas, religious rituals, or cultural trends. We look to the Bible to know the truth of God’s redemptive relationship with humanity. We study Scripture and listen to the Holy Spirit to live wisely. We follow Jesus’ example of love and sacrifice to live transformed lives and take God’s truth out into our city.

Community

We are not in this alone. We hope and work for unity with the believers around us, which means we commit to spend time together, encourage one another, forgive one another, and share with one another.
We also want good things for the community in which we live. We work together to love and serve Tucson–and we pray that God will bless our city and that the gospel will transform lives here.

Cultivate

God wants us to pour our lives into the people around us, so we make time to sharpen each other, stir one another up to do good deeds, and to process ideas and turn them into actions. We learn God’s Word and use it to humbly teach, respectfully rebuke and correct, and help one another learn how to live in a way that pleases God.

Amplify

We worship God in every way we live our lives and work to make his name known through our lives–whether celebrating or struggling. We know that because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, we are transformed, free people. We embrace our freedom in Christ to simply, daily, and creatively proclaim what Jesus has done in our lives.

Mission

Jesus Christ entrusts us with the message of hope. The Holy Spirit then compels us to “take a step into the second mile” to tell others the good news. Each step toward cultivating others, in the truth of the gospel, brings glory to God who through Christ, reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. As the church, we must serve people in our lives with hearts filled with love and hands filled with care. We seek to engage the worldview of others with truth-filled grace.
